Indications :
Severe falciparum malaria Side-Effects : Drug induced fever can occur. Neurotoxicity, Cardiotoxicity, skin rash and pruritus. Precautions : Should be used for the treatment of severe falciparum malaria only where there is evidence that the antimalarial efficacy of quinine is declining. Should always be used immediately after reconstitution Contra-Indications : Prior hypersensitivity to artesunate or artemisinin derivatives |

Indications : Patients requiring prolonged parenteral neuroleptic therapy (e.g., chronic schizophrenics). Side-Effects : Extrapyramidal symptoms, Dystonia, Tardive Dyskinesia, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, Drowsiness or lethargy Hypertension and fluctuations in blood pressure, Weight change, metabolic and endocrine effects, allergic, hematological reactions Precautions : Convulsive disorders, hepatic, renal, CVS, cerebrovascular diseases, elderly, debilated, may elevate prolactin levels, depression, closed angle glaucoma, avoid direct sun exposure, routine eye check up Contra-Indications : Hypersensitivity, severe depression, comatose, pregnancy 3rd trimester, bone marow depresssion. |
